The road from Jets headquarters has been running downhill since free agency started.

Mike DeVito’s in Kansas City, Shonn Greene’s in Tennessee, Dustin Keller seems destined for the Dolphins and LaRon Landry’s been drawing interest from several teams with little chance he returns to the Jets. Not everyone is beating a path away from the team, however.

Mike Florio of PFT is reporting that the team has been able to hold onto running back Lex Hilliard on a one-year deal. Hilliard joined the Jets off the street in October and spent most of his time on special teams.

It probably goes without saying that this is something short of a game-changing move by the Jets, but they are at least on course to have a full roster heading into offseason activities. As Richard Dreyfuss once counseled Bill Murray, “Baby steps, Bob.”
