Restricted free agent linebacker Robert Francois wanted to stay with the Packers, and he will.

Francois has signed a one-year contract to stay in Green Bay, a league source tells PFT. The 2013 season will be Francois’s fourth with the Packers. He initially entered the league as an undrafted free agent and spent time in training camp with the Vikings (he was the guy who got waived to make room for Brett Favre’s arrival in 2009) and with the Lions before getting picked up by the Packers.

Although Francois was exclusively a special teams player in 2012, the Packers like his potential and think he could be a starting linebacker in their defense.
