Free agent linebacker Dan Connor is heading to New York.

Connor has signed a one-year deal with the Giants, a league source tells PFT.

A 2008 third-round draft pick of the Panthers, Connor played four seasons in Carolina before signing with the Cowboys last season. In Dallas last season Connor played in 14 games, starting eight, but he was cut by the Cowboys just before the start of free agency in a salary cap move.

With the Giants, Connor will compete with Mark Herzlich for the starting middle linebacker spot.
