“The Bears didn’t want him but the Panthers might” is on the verge of becoming a miniseries.

According to Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune, former Bears cornerback D.J. Moore is visiting the Panthers later this week.

The former fourth-rounder from Vanderbilt intercepted 10 passes the last three seasons for the Bears, but they told him they wanted to go in a different direction.

The Panthers have also checked out former Chicago castoffs Chris Williams and Frank Omiyale lately, though neither signed.

Moore grew up in Spartanburg, S.C., where the Panthers hold training camp.

Carolina has a need, with Captain Munnerlyn a free agent they seem unwillingly to pay. Of course, until they work out a pay cuy/restructure for left tackle Jordan Gross, which seems to be their next move, they’re not going to do much of anything.
