The Dolphins might be through throwing big money around, but they’re still looking for help, and unlike years past, some veteran players are more willing to look their way.

According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, the Dolphins have made inquiries about Giants free agent defensive end Osi Umenyiora, one of the forgotten pass-rushers still on the market.

He reports the Dolphins have “spent considerable time studying Umenyiora and even called his representatives to explore the possibility.”

That’s a long way from a deal, but it shows they’re still looking.

They’ll also be in the market for some defensive tackle help, as free agent Tony McDaniel isn’t expected to return.

But with the market transitioning, the Dolphins are taking it more slowly now, not in a hurry to make any moves.
