Farewell, Arizona

We had a quick and productive three days in Phoenix, site of this year’s annual league meetings.  It was a great chance to meet and greet a wide range of NFL folks, along with many of our friends in the media.

The visit provided another opportunity for PFT Live and Pro Football Talk remotes, which cranked out 19 interviews from Monday to Wednesday under the supervision and dogged persistence of the great Bob “Bobby V” Vasilopulos.

From owners (Robert Kraft of the Patriots, Steve Bisciotti of the Ravens, Stephen Ross of the Dolphins, and Jed York of the 49ers) to coaches (John and Jim Harbaugh, Sean Payton, Jeff Fisher, Pete Carroll, Andy Reid, Mike Shanahan, Jim Schwartz, and Dennis Allen) to General Managers (Rick Spielman, Rick Smith, Tom Telesco, Ruston Webster, and Jerry Reese), and our good friend Peter King, the mobile PFT studio was humming in the very hot desert sun, where for the first time in my life I was burned by the sun while wearing a suit and tie.

But it was a great experience, and we thank the teams for making their folks available and an on-site crew that was organized and efficient and friendly.  We look forward to the next opportunity to shake and move with the NFL’s movers and shakers.

As long as this plane on which I’m riding does less shaking and more moving.
