If you normally watch Pro Football Talk on NBC Sports Network at 5 p.m. ET on weeknights, you’ve got a free hour on Friday evening.

We’d suggest you fill it by watching college hockey on the network instead -- it’s not like there’s any other sports programming on right now -- and then come back at 11 p.m. when Friday’s abbreviated edition of the show hits the air. It will be just a half-hour instead of the full 60 minutes, which just means the information will be coming at you more quickly.

Newly signed Saints tight end Ben Watson will join Erik Kuselias to talk about his decision to sign in New Orleans. We imagine that the chance to catch passes thrown by Tom Brees and the amount of money they offered will be among the top reasons, but one should never underestimate proximity to beignets in such matters.

James Palmer of CSN Houston will be on hand to talk about Ed Reed’s introduction as a member of the Texans and Mike Florio will have all the latest from around the league as we wrap up another week.

It gets going at 11 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network, so remember to set your alarms. Or your DVRs.
