The Cowboys can’t give out contracts at the moment, so they’re apparently going for promise rings.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Cowboys have agreed to a two-year deal with Lions free agent linebacker Justin Durant.

The only problem is, they don’t have the cap space to execute said contract, with around $100,000 worth of room. But when they do, Durant’s their guy.

They could create a pile by doing long-term deals for outside linebacker Anthony Spencer or quarterback Tony Romo, but those negotiations are such you don’t want to move too fast.

Because being willing to wait shows true love. Or something.
