Vikings defensive end Jared Allen went from never having surgery to having two in the same day.
According to Tom Pelissero of 1500ESPN.com, Allen had his knee cleaned out the same day he had a torn labrum in his left shoulder repaired. The shoulder issue bothered him all year, but the knee procedure was termed minor.
Allen had said that he hadn’t had any surgeries since getting his tonsils taken out when he was 5, but the 30-year-old has now doubled that.
Allen’s still expected to be ready to participate in minicamp in June, so the work’s not alarming, for a guy who is still producing at a high level (coming off his sixth straight double-digit sack season.
