In the end, Fred Davis decided to finish what he started. At least for one more season.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Davis has signed a one-year deal to remain with the Redskins.

Davis also had an offer from the Bills. He had planned to visit the Jets, but Davis canceled the trip on Thursday, focusing on the offers from Washington and Buffalo.

Washington’s franchise player in 2012, Davis tore an Achilles tendon in the seventh game of the season. This year’s deal likely is worth much less money, especially since the Redskins have limited cap space, thanks to the $18 million that the NFL stole from the team last year and this year for treating the uncapped year like it was actually uncapped.
