McCoy deal essentially for a seventh

Colt McCoy Pic

In case you were wondering how eager the Browns were to get rid of Colt McCoy to keep from paying their third-stringer $1.5 million (as Florio pointed out earlier), here’s your answer.

According to Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com, the 49ers obtained McCoy and the Browns sixth-round pick in exchange for their fifth- and seventh-round picks, which Florio has also confirmed.

So that’s the 164th overall pick and the 237th in exchange for the 173rd and a warm body, so they moved down nine spots and threw in a seventh to get a guy to back up Colin Kaepernick.

That leaves the 49ers with a paltry 13 draft picks to use this year.
