The NFL continues to weigh using a draft to spice up the 2014 Pro Bowl and discussed the implementation of such plans this week, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reported Thursday.

La Canfora also reported that the NFL and NFLPA are generally on the same page on the prospect of a draft occurring this year, and he called a draft “increasingly likely.” According to La Canfora, drafting of teams could be televised in primetime.

The future of the Pro Bowl has much discussed in recent years, but the game will be played next January in Honolulu. The NFL generally has a good deal of leeway to alter the Pro Bowl via the collective bargaining agreement, including doing away with the game altogether. For now, the focus seems to be on looking at ways to change the product, not shelve it.
