No medical re-check for Eddie Lacy, either

Another big-name player in the 2013 draft pool won’t be taking an aeroplane to Indy this weekend.

Alabama running back Eddie Lacy, who has been unable to work out for scouts due to a hamstring injury, wasn’t asked to return to Indy for a medical re-check.

Lacy remains on track to run for scouts on April 11.  At last word, he “should be ready” to run that day.

Until he runs, and runs well, Lacy could fade.  Some think he could end up being taken behind Wisconsin’s Montee Ball or even South Carolina’s Marcus Lattimore.

Much of it will depend on whether he ultimately able to run on April 11, and whether he runs fast enough to prop up his potentially sliding stock.

  1. Let’s pump the breaks here. In what world is Marcus Lattimore, regardless of how inspirational his story and well his rehab is going, coming off the board before Lacey with a tweaked hamstring?

I’m hoping Lattimore recovers all the way and has a successful career, but is anyone thinking that after two major knee surgeries this kid is going in the first two rounds?

  2. I would love to know why Michigan State’s Le’Veon Bell is left out of this conversation. He is arguably the best running back in the draft. Sports writers should do their homework.
