Robert Woods visits Vikings, Jets, Colts, Eagles

In a draft short of potential superstars, a player who once torched a current NFL superstar is getting plenty of interest.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, USC receiver Robert Woods has visited the Vikings, Jets, Colts, and Eagles in advance of next week’s draft.  He has taken other visits, but the teams he has seen aren’t currently known.

Teams in the NFC West should be targeting Woods.  After all, he caught 12 passes for 224 yards and three touchdowns in 2010 while being covered by Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman.

Regarded by many as a second-day prospect until his Pro Day may have pushed him into the bottom of round one, the performance from a freshman against a senior who quickly has become one of the top cornerbacks in the NFL should cause teams to take an extra-long look at Woods.

  1. I wish we would be able to see more from Sherman before he went on his rampage, is he really that good?… But hey the seahawks are my second team now, so what can I say. I hope woods lands with the vikes in round 2!

  2. Sherman’s twice the man he was when he last faced Woods in 2010. That’s what HGH and anabolic steroids will do for you.

  3. Every year February predraft rankings continue to confuse me. Two years ago, Cam Newton was rated as a mid-late 1st rounder. I never liked him as a person but I knew it would be hard to pass over him when you have to line everyone up like in gym class. I don’t know what Woods did to not be a top 40 pick other than have Marqise Lee prove he is Top 10.

    Robert Woods: You mad Bro?

  5. Good player but he will be chosen in the early second round. I believe his 40 times were not very good.

  6. Not sure why he is coming to Philly…we are already loaded with receivers whose college career will always be better than their pro careers. #factshurt

  7. I’m putting the line at 5 catches for 75 yards before Kam Chancellor cracks him, and puts him down like he did Vermin Davis. Please like the current 49ers know anything about decent WR. Thats why they signed Randy “Gator Arms” Moss, Mario “Ahh my knee” Manningham, and drafted AJ Jenkins. Boldin is the only decent non feminine WR on SF.

BTW Sherman was a recently converted from WR to CB when they faced, and Sherman had Jim H at the time trying to coach defense. He’s lucky SF was already built when he got there.

Yes. However, you fail to mention that this happened BEFORE Richard sold his soul.

That’s funny. The “feminine” WRs for the 9ers put up 3551 yards as a group whereas the “manly” Seahawks squad put up over 300 less yards. Oh, and Crabtree had 1105 yards and 9 TDs, where your best WR, Rice, had only 748 for 7. Guess your argument for “current 49ers not knowing anything about decent WRs” holds no weight. Care to compare former WR stats?

Peytonsneck with another witty spin on the Redskins name. What makes this kid think anyone would like to play for the colts over the Redskins is beyond the majority of people’s comprehension, but no one has ever claimed this kid has half a brain.

Why would woods want to play for a team that tanks seasons to get high draft picks? The cots will lose ten games this year. Luck has two more years in the NFL and that’s it.

    HTTR!!!!!!
