In February, the Giants cut linebacker Michael Boley. Three days later, he pleaded guilty to felony child abuse in Alabama.
For the team, there was no connection between the two incidents.
Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the Giants were not aware of the situation when cutting Boley, who was due to earn a base salary of $4.25 million.
Of course, the Giants and every other team now know about it, which could make it harder for him to find a job. Especially if he failed to inform the NFL of the situation at any point before it became public.
