Injury limits Ace Sanders to one day of minicamp practice

The Jaguars have a compelling and intriguing class of draft picks. Several have made news this weekend for good reasons. One has drawn attention because he suffered an injury during the first practice of the team’s rookie minicamp.

Receiver/punt returner Ace Sanders, drafted by the Jags in round four, suffered on Friday what has been described both as a “minor groin injury” and an “abdominal strain.”

Sanders didn’t practice on Saturday or Sunday. Coach Gus Bradley called the decision to sit Sanders “more precautionary than anything.”

It’ll be important for the Jaguars to let Sanders fully heal, or the injury could linger into training camp and beyond. All too often, a muscle pull that happens to a rookie early in offseason workouts hangs around because the player is anxious to prove himself.
