The Indianapolis Colts have agreed to deals with a pair of late round draft picks.

According to Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Star, safety John Boyett and tight end Justice Cunningham have agreed to terms on contracts with the team.

Boyett was selected in the sixth round by the Colts while Cunningham was “Mr. Irrelevant” as the final selection of the 2013 NFL Draft.

Boyett has the talent to be an intriguing pick for the Colts late in the draft. Injuries to both knees ended his 2012 season at the University of Oregon after just one game but he was a very strong player for the Ducks when healthy. If he can return to form, the Colts may have found a steal late in the draft.

  1. Credit the writer as he obviously knows his stuff: John Boyett being a “steal” is an understatement. One of the smartest players in the defensive backfield; excels in both pass coverage and punishing ball carriers; gym rat-type player. I don’t know who is the current starter in Indy but he better save his money! As far as the injury to his knees go: Oregon fans had no idea the guy was hurting until it was announced he was sitting out his final season…

  2. Are you saying that as if to say, “I doubt this player is a late round stud?” If so, I don’t know if you’re a cautious Colt fan or simply an Oregon Duck hater (Washington Husky, USC Trojan, Oregon State Beaver fan) who has been the victim of a Duck attack….? But I assure you my friend, “JB can play!” And notwithstanding this out of left field knee thing: He is a early round draft pick. He is also a player who plays with the proverbial ‘Chip on his shoulder’ (no pun intended, Chip Kelly being his former coach and all), so now that he has fallen in the draft he has been on a preparation mission! Look him up on youtube and you’ll get a glimpse of what I’m talking about. Lets agree to chat after training camp? You’ll know exactly what I mean after the preseason highlights are compiled.
