Chiefs name Marvin Allen director of college scouting

The draft is fading into the rear-view mirror, which means that the new NFL front offices are finalizing their staffs.

In Kansas City, new Chiefs G.M. John Dorsey has hired Marvin Allen to serve as the director of college scouting.

Allen, who most recently served as a National Scout with the Falcons for four years, previously spent 16 with the Patriots.

A former runing back, Allen played at Tulane before becoming an 11th-round draft pick of the Patriots in 1988.

Allen and Panthers National Scout Jeff Morrow reportedly were the finalists for the job.
