Nevada RB Stefphon Jefferson among Titans’ undrafted signees

Running back Stefphon Jefferson, who finished second in the NCAA’s Football Bowl Subdivision in rushing yards and carries in 2012, is among the 15 undrafted rookie free agents with whom the Titans have reached contract agreements, the club said Thursday.

The 5-10, 213 Jefferson racked up 1,883 yards on 375 carries for Nevada in 2012. His 24 rushing touchdowns were tied for second-most in FBS play a season ago. He declared for the draft with one season of eligibility remaining.

The Titans’ other undrafted free agents are UTEP center Eloy Atkinson, South Florida cornerback George Baker, South Florida placekicker Maikon Bonani, Regina defensive tackle Stefan Charles, Western Kentucky tight end Jack Doyle, Florida A&M wide receiver Travis Harvey, Louisiana Tech guard Oscar Johnson, Oklahoma State defensive end Nigel Nicholas, Valdosta State cornerback Matthew Pierce, Arizona State wide receiver Rashad Ross, McMaster tackle Matt Sewell, Murray State wide receiver Dontel Watkins, Clemson linebacker Jonathan Willard and Oklahoma linebacker Tom Wort.

The Titans’ rookie minicamp begins on Friday.
