Bengals ink Tanner Hawkinson

Tanner

While an old episode of Hard Knocks featuring former Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer complaining about the smell of his hand after putting it under center plays on NFL Network, the Bengals have announced an agreement with a guy who could end up worrying about similar hygiene issues.

Offensive lineman Tanner Hawkinson, a fifth-round draft choice, has agreed to terms. Listed as a guard, he can play all three positions on the line.

“He’s a very versatile guy,” offensive line coach Paul Alexander said last month. “He’s going to play all the spots and make everyone’s seat a little uncomfortable.”

As long as he keeps his own seat presentable, Hawkinson should get along just fine with the team’s current quarterback, Andy Dalton.
