ProFootballTalk: Manning’s contract gives Broncos cap relief

Peyton Manning restructured part of his remaining contract with the Denver Broncos and added in a clause that would give the Broncos insurance money if Manning wasn’t able to play during the 2014 due to an injury. The league processed the contract differently than Manning’s initial deal in Denver. The Broncos will receive $2.5 million in cap relief this year and next, but will have $2.5 million less in 2015 and 2016.
