The Dallas Cowboys are expected to have a new player on the practice field for the start of the team’s mini-camp on Tuesday.

According to Todd Archer of ESPNDallas.com, the Cowboys plan to sign former Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Jeris Pendleton.

Despite being just a year removed from college, Pendleton is already 29 years old. He was out of football for six years after high school before joining Joliet Junior College as a walk-on in 2008. He then transferred to Division II Ashland University before being drafted in the seventh round by Jacksonville last year.

Pendleton appeared in four games with the Jaguars last season and recorded just one tackle. The Cowboys will need to make a roster move to clear space for Pendleton on their 90-man roster.
