The Buccaneers appear to be closing in on an extension for wide receiver Mike Williams, but that’s not keeping them from making other moves to bolster the team’s receiving corps.

Buccaneers General Manager Mark Dominik announced Thursday that the team has signed veteran wideout Derek Hagan. Hagan joins a depth chart that is fairly unsettled behind Williams and Vincent Jackson, which should offer him a shot to earn playing time with the team during training camp.

Hagan caught 20 passes for 259 yards in 14 games with the Raiders last season. It was Hagan’s second stint for the Raiders as he also played with them briefly in 2011 before being cut and joining the Bills. Hagan has also played for the Giants and Dolphins, who drafted him in the third round of the 2006 draft, over the course of his seven years in the NFL.

Kevin Ogletree, Tiquan Underwood, Chris Owusu and David Douglas are some of the other receivers that will compete with Hagan for snaps behind the two starters.
