The Raiders have signed rookie linebacker Sio Moore, the club said Thursday. Moore was the club’s third-round pick.
Moore notched 274 tackles, including 44 for loss, in four seasons at Connecticut. He also recorded 16 sacks, eight of which came as a senior.
Moore will compete for playing time at outside linebacker in the Raiders’ 4-3 scheme.
“I like Sio,” Raiders coach Dennis Allen said of Moore on Wednesday, according to a team-issued transcript. “Sio is a rookie. He makes some rookie mistakes, but he’s a big, powerful man. He’s got a little bit of pass rush ability to him, so I like some of the flexibility he gives us.”
The Raiders have now signed 7-of-10 draft picks, the club said Thursday.
