A two-way college star of the 1960s, who won big games with and against Joe Namath, has passed away.

According to the Austin American-Statesman, former University of Texas and Jets safety Jim Hudson died at the age of 70.

Hudson drew the Jets’ notice when he quarterbacked the Longhorns against Namath’s Alabama team in the 1965 Orange Bowl, and he would later play safety for the Jets in Super Bowl III. He also led the Longhorns to the 1963 national championship.
