We noted in March that Giants defensive tackle Shaun Rogers had half a million dollars of jewelry stolen. Now a woman has been arrested as a suspect in the theft.

New York State Police announced that Subhanna Beyah was arrested in Queens after police in Florida asked police in New York to help track her down as a suspect in multiple larcenies where jewelry and cash were taken.

Rogers was staying at a Miami Beach hotel in March when he returned to the room and found diamond earrings worth $100,000, wristwatches worth $160,000, a gold necklace with gold pendant worth $50,000, gold bracelets worth $60,000 and a diamond necklace with a gold pendant worth $70,000 missing.

It is unclear whether police have recovered any of Rogers’ missing jewelry.

This case would be a good one for the league to mention at the rookie symposium, to tell young players that whether it gets stolen or whether it becomes the subject of a lawsuit after a broken engagement, spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on jewelry is the kind of thing that makes an athlete go broke.
