The NFL is sending yet another group to THE Middle East to visit American troops. One former player will be making his fifth visit to the folks who protect our freedoms.
Former NFL linebacker Donnie Edwards, a 14-year NFL veteran, has gone four other times to help boost the morale of our soldiers. He’s making trip No. 5 with former G.M. Bill Polian, former linebacker Chris Draft, and former running back Eric Metcalf.
Earlier this year, six current players made the trek: Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey, Browns linebacker D’Qwell Jackson, Buccaneers guard Davin Joseph, Broncos linebacker Von Miller, Panthers receiver Steve Smith, and Texans defensive end J.J. Watt.
The program dates back to 1966, and it’s a great way for the NFL to show appreciation to folks who risk a lot more than concussions and torn ACLs, pretty much every day of the year.
