The Redskins haven’t made any announcements about what quarterback Robert Griffin III will be doing when training camp gets underway, but one of his most important receivers has been given the green light to practice fully.

Mike Jones of the Washington Post reports that Pierre Garçon has been given full medical clearance following his rehab from surgery to repair a torn labrum in his shoulder earlier this offseason. Garçon visited Dr. James Andrews earlier this week and got the green light.

Garçon expressed confidence that things would play out this way in May, although he added the caveat that he was less certain about how his foot would hold up this season. He’ll be wearing a special shoe to protect the torn ligament that hampered him for almost all of last season after passing on surgery that wasn’t guaranteed to fix the problem once and for all.

Garçon led the team with 633 receiving yards while playing 10 games last season and he should push closer to the 1,000-yard mark in 2013 if his foot cooperates. That would make life easier for Griffin whenever he gets the go-ahead to go full speed.
