Browns player taken from practice field in ambulance but will be OK

Browns

A scary scene is unfolding in Cleveland, where a player was carried off the field at training camp on a stretcher, loaded into an ambulance and rushed to a local hospital.

Multiple members of the media at Browns training camp say the team asked journalists not to take pictures or video, and to withhold the player’s name until his family has been notified.

People at the scene have described the situation on social media, saying that coaches and players looked very concerned as they circled around the fallen player and knelt in prayer. The player was on the ground for about five minutes while the medical staff tended to him before taking him to the ambulance.

We will continue to monitor the situation and update with further developments.

UPDATE 5:08 p.m. ET: Tom Reed of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that the player is awake and alert and has movement in all four extremities.

UPDATE 5:41 p.m. ET: The Browns have confirmed that the injured player, Ryan Miller, is going to be OK.
