Loser of Vick-Foles competition could be gone from Philly

Eagles

The loser of the Mike Vick-Nick Foles quarterback competition might not simply be destined for the bench. He might be headed on the first bus out of town.

That’s why Geoff Mosher of CSNPhilly.com believes. He shared his views during Monday’s edition of PFT Live.

We’ve long believed that if Vick doesn’t emerge as the starter, he could disappear from the roster. But Foles could be out of a job, Mosher believes, if Vick wins the first-string position.

Under either scenario, rookie Matt Barkley would become the backup, with former Oregon quarterback Dennis Dixon serving as the scout-team/change-of-pace read-option option.

If Barkley wins the job (which Mosher thinks isn’t out of the question), Foles likely would remain in place, as the backup. Vick would be gone.

What it all means for now is that, once the drama of the quarterback competition ends, even more drama could follow.
