New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton didn’t expect the elbow injury suffered Monday by linebacker Martez Wilson to be anything major.
The good news for the Saints is that Payton appears to be correct.
According to Larry Holder of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Wilson will miss 2-4 weeks after suffering the injury attempting to make a tackle in the backfield Monday morning.
Wilson has seen an increased role after Victor Butler was lost for the season to a torn ACL during OTAs. The timetable should allow Wilson to return before the start of the regular season.
Wilson is entering his third season with the Saints. He’s appeared in 29 games with one start over the past two years with 29 tackles, four sacks and a forced fumble.
