Schneider says there’s a “huge, huge spectrum” of outcomes for Harvin’s hip injury

Schneider

On Tuesday, Seahawks receiver Percy Harvin will go to New York for a second opinion on the partially torn labrum in his hip. Seahawks fans are nervous, and for good reason.

G.M. John Schneider explained on Monday that there are many possible outcomes at this point.

It’s really a huge, huge spectrum, quite honestly,” Schneider told SiriusXM NFL Radio, via Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times.

Surgery remains an option; we’re told that the Seahawks want Harvin to attempt to play with treatment.

“We are going to take care of him as well as we possibly can,” Schneider said. “He’s a part of this team, a huge part of this team, obviously. But it’s about team, it’s not about one player. I understand the significance of what he brings, but there are also a bunch of other guys busting their tail out there right now.”

Those guys may need to keep busting their tail for a while, because Harvin possibly may not be available for the foreseeable future. Either way, Harvin, the Seahawks, and presumably the rest of us will know more tomorrow.
