The San Francisco 49ers are still trying to solve depth issues at wide receiver with injuries to Michael Crabtree and Mario Manningham rendering them unavailable for the foreseeable future.

Last year’s first-round draft pick A.J. Jenkins is still struggling to find a footing and is sitting out with an injury. Kyle Williams and Kasim Osgood also missed practice on Wednesday.

That leaves the 49ers incredibly thin at the position. As a result, the 49ers are set to workout free agent receiver Laurent Robinson this week according to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee.

Robinson appeared in just seven games for the Jacksonville Jaguars last season after signing a five-year deal with the team. Robinson dealt with concussions and was released by the Jaguars this offseason. He caught just 24 passes for 252 yards last season for the Jaguars after having a career year with the Dallas Cowboys in 2011. That season Robinson caught 54 passes for 858 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Robinson will have to prove his concussion issues are behind him if the 49ers are going to sign him. They took a look at concussion-plagued receiver Austin Collie this offseason too but he also remains a free agent.
