No charges against Leroy Hill

Free-agent linebacker Leroy Hill is now a free man, and until further notice he’ll remain one.

Arrested on domestic violence charges in January, prosecutors decided in May not to pursue felony charges.  Misdemeanor charges were still possible.

Now, prosecutors have decided to pursue no charges at all.

According to a press release from Hill’s lawyers, prosecutors concluded that the alleged victim’s claims weren’t supported by the medical records, and that there was evidence consistent with Hill’s contention that the alleged victim was upset because he intended to move away without her.

Complicating matters for the alleged victim, according to the press release, was the “fact that she has a 2011 federal conviction for conspiracy and making a false statement to a federal agent in a multi-million dollar I.D. theft, credit card, airline ticket scheme.”

Hill also has been advised that the league office will not pursue discipline against him for the incident.

With the controversy resolved, Hill can now return to football.  If any team is interested in the eight-year veteran who starter 12 games in 2012 for the Seahawks.

  1. PLEASE come back and play for Seattle so the Niners can exact revenge for the obvious and malicious Manningham knee hit. Worst and most obvious-intent-to-injure hit of 2012. LOSER!

This case is an excellent example of why we have to know some facts about the case before convicting someone in the blogs.
