The Steelers signed veteran cornerback Ryan Steed and undrafted rookie free agent tight end John Rabe on Wednesday, per the NFL’s transactions.

With Steed and Rabe arriving, the Steelers waived rookie defensive tackle Omar Hunter and rookie defensive back Nigel Malone.

Steed, 23, had a stint on the Saints’ practice squad at the end of 2012. New Orleans waived him last week. Steed, who played collegiately at Furman, entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Jets last year.

Rabe (6-4, 258) caught 14 passes for 143 yards and four TDs as a senior for Minnesota in 2012.

The Steelers are at the 90-player roster limit.
