Desmond Bishop will miss Saturday night scrimmage

Bishop

Linebacker Desmond Bishop has recovered from a torn hamstring that sidelined him for all of the 2012 season. But Bishop now has a new injury, reportedly to his groin.

I’ll be fine,” Bishop said after suffering the injury on Friday, via Brian Murphy of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Defensive coordinator Alan Williams said Saturday that Bishop will be held out of a Saturday night scrimmage, but Williams declined to delve into details.

Also missing the scrimmage will be first-round cornerback Xavier Rhodes, who has a hamstring injury, and safety Mistral Raymond.

Bishop signed with the Vikings after being cut by the Packers in June. He’s been competing for the weakside linebacker job with Marvin Mitchell.
