Steelers add D’Anthony Batiste

Batiste

Though the Pittsburgh Steelers have improved significantly along the offensive line in recent years, they’re still trying to get better.

The latest step comes from veteran D’Anthony Batiste. The Steelers announced that Batiste has joined the team via a one-year contract.

Batiste, 31, has appeared in 37 games with 14 starts during an NFL career that has taken him from Dallas to Carolina to Atlanta to Washington to Denver and to Arizona. Last year, Batiste appeared in 12 games for the Cardinals, starting 10.

The Steelers cleared a roster spot by placing rookie guard Nik Embernate on the waived/injured list. He recently suffered a torn ACL and MCL.
