The Raiders signed defensive lineman Ryan Baker and waived-injured defensive tackle Johnny Jones on Monday, the club said.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the 28-year-old Baker worked out for the Raiders on Sunday. Oakland has been dealing with some defensive line injuries, and another healthy, experienced player upfront will be helpful as the club tries to get through its summer preparations.

Baker (6-5, 302) appeared in 17 games as a reserve for the Dolphins from 2009 through 2012. He would figure to be a defensive tackle in the Raiders’ 4-3 front, though he has played defensive end, too, albeit in a 3-4 scheme.

Raiders assistant head coach /offensive line coach Tony Sparano was the Dolphins’ head coach in Baker’s first three seasons in Miami.

Jones, 24, is a second-year pro from Marshall.
