The Chargers, like many other teams, have released an initial depth chart. Here are some of the highlights:
-- Robert Meachem, who will make $5 million in 2013, is one of the Chargers’ third-string wide receivers. So too is third-round pick Keenan Allen. Eddie Royal and Vincent Brown are the second-team receivers, with Malcom Floyd and Danario Alexander listed as the starters. For the record, Meachem’s salary for 2013 is guaranteed, per Rotoworld.com contract data.
-- Rookie Manti Te’o is one of the first-string inside linebackers. The former Notre Dame standout was expected to start off the bat, and that looks like it will be the case.
-- Ronnie Brown, not Danny Woodhead, is the Chargers’ second-team running back.
-- King Dunlap is the first-string left tackle, with ex-Steeler Max Starks the backup.
-- Rookie D.J. Fluker is the first-team right tackle. Jeromey Clary, who was the starting right tackle a season ago, is now the No. 1 right guard.
-- Shareece Wright is listed as the starter opposite of Derek Cox at cornerback.
-- Marcus Gilchrist is the first-string strong safety.
