Eagles long-snapper Jon Dorenbos left Friday’s preseason game vs. New England with a head injury, the club said tonight.

Dorenbos, 33, has been Philadelphia’s long-snapper since late in the 2006 season. He was helped off the field in the first half and was later transported inside on a cart.

Were Dorenbos to miss any time, the Eagles would have to sign someone to replace him. Tight end Brett Celek stepped in as the snapper for Philadelphia in Dorebos’ absence. A low Celek snap was a factor in a late first-half field goal never getting off the ground, with holder Donnie Jones being stopped for a loss.

The Eagles also lost two reserve inside linebackers to injury. Jamar Chaney sustained a shoulder injury, while Casey Matthews hurt his left knee, the club said.
