Report: Lions, Justin Bannan strike a deal

AP

One of the best remaining unsigned defensive linemen now has a new home.

The Lions and tackle Justin Bannan have reached a deal, Mike Klis of the Denver Post reported Thursday.

Bannan, 34, recorded 42 tackles and started 15 regular-season games for Denver in 2012. He visited the Lions earlier in the summer.

Bannan (6-3, 312) has started 14 games in each of the last three seasons, but he’ll likely be one of the Lions’ top tackles behind the starting tandem of Nick Fairley and Ndamukong Suh.

  1. The lions STILL suck so badly that they made the re-re-rebuilding Cleveland Browns look like a playoff contender on Thursdays preseason game.

The secret’s out Detroit….all a team has to do is give Calvin all the yards he wants and proceed to shredding the worst secondary in sports history.
    rinse, repeat.

  2. Martin Mayhew : defensive linemen :: Matt Millen : wide receivers

Honestly, that’s great guys. You have nine starting-caliber defensive tackles and ends. Can any of them play cornerback?
