Former Rams General Manager Billy Devaney, who is now being paid to say things, had a harsh critique of Raiders tackle Alex Barron.
But Barron’s current coach doesn’t see where that criticism is coming from.
After Devaney said Barron “does not like anything about the game except getting paid,” Raiders coach Dennis Allen disagreed.
“I only have my perspective on Alex Barron since the time he got here,” Allen said, via Scott Bair of CSNBayArea.com. “I haven’t seen that at all from him. I’ve seen a guy who has to continue to improve and continue to work to get better. I’ve seen a guy that’s out here, working hard for this team each and every day.”
Granted, Allen needs to say that, because with Jared Veldheer out for some time after triceps surgery, Barron’s the next man up at left tackle.
Barron could also use some confidence, after the first offensive line gave up five sacks in a half at New Orleans.
