One week until the cuts commence

While the Turk has been relatively busy in most NFL cities, churning the bottom of a roster than currently can have up to 90 men, the Turk will be more than earning his money next week.

As long as he doesn’t first get shot by a gun hidden in a toilet.

By Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. ET, all rosters must be reduced from a maximum of 90 to a limit of 75. Four days after, the teams must finish the shrinkage from 75 to 53.

That makes Saturday, August 31 the date for the annual whirlwind of roster moves of a both expected and unexpected nature, with hundreds of players becoming free agents or hitting the waiver wire by the deadline of 6:00 p.m. ET.

As always, we’ll be tracking every cut on a minute-by-minute basis -- and in turn every move that’s made as the churning continues at the bottom of the 53-man roster, and as teams fill out their practice squads.
