A week ago, a mild panic ensued when Patriots quarterback Tom Brady went down holding his knee in practice.

So in the interest of equal time, we have to inform you that quarterback Aaron Rodgers is absent from today’s Packers practice, according to Jason Wilde of ESPNWisconsin.com.

Wilde, who co-hosts a weekly radio spot with Rodgers during the season, points out that there’s no necessary reason for alarm at the moment.

But after last week’s concern over the condition of one of the top quarterbacks in the game, it’s appropriate to mention this.

And to alert the Wisconsin National Guard, just in case.

UPDATE 1:25 p.m. ET: Via multiple reports, Rodgers has a “slight illness” and was given the day off.
