If Darrelle Revis is to play in the preseason, it will have to be in Tampa Bay’s final game of the exhibition slate on Thursday vs. Washington.
The Buccaneers announced on their Twitter feed Saturday that Revis will not play in Saturday evening’s game at Miami. However, the club, via Twitter, noted “there has been no setback. He had a very good week of practice.”
Whether Revis plays in the preseason or not is secondary to whether he’s full-strength as early as he can be in the regular season -- preferably 15 days from now in the opener against his old club, the Jets. A prudent approach in the exhibition season makes sense for the Buccaneers and their star cornerback.
