Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is having a big night.

Roethlisberger is avoiding pressure, throwing on the run, showing off a strong arm and generally doing everything the Steelers need him to do in the third preseason game against the Chiefs.

In the first quarter, Roethlisberger was nearly sacked by Kansas City’s Tamba Hali but managed to avoid him, then step up into the pocket, scan the field and finally find running back Jonathan Dwyer for a 13-yard touchdown pass. It was vintage Big Ben.

The best pass Roethlisberger threw was an incompletion: It was a beautiful deep ball to Emmanuel Sanders who reeled it in for what at first appeared to be a touchdown. Unfortunately for the Steelers, Chiefs cornerback Brandon Flowers was able to hit Sanders and make him bobble the ball as he went to the ground, and it was ruled incomplete.

Overall, Roethlisberger completed 13 of 19 passes for 166 yards, with a touchdown and no interceptions in a very good first half.
