Kirk Cousins says he’ll be ready for opener

Redskins fans have fretted and worried if their quarterback was going to be able to play in the opener after recovering from injury.

But rest easy gang, Kirk Cousins says he’s going to be OK.

While there might be that one other guy that they’re more concerned about, there’s certainly a sense of relief with Cousins on the mend from a foot sprain last week. He told reporters he was planning to try to practice today, after missing Saturday’s preseason game.

Asked if there was any doubt he’d be ready for the regular season opener, Cousins replied: “None at all,” via the team’s official Twitter account.

That settled, we can now return to the practice habits of their other second-year quarterback, who still isn’t going to play in the preseason.
