All offseason, the Jaguars have been quick to claim players waived by better teams.
There’s no indication that’s slowing down anytime soon.
The Jaguars announced they had claimed former Chiefs quarterback Ricky Stanzi and former Seahawks linebacker Kyle Knox off waivers. Neither of them have played in a regular season game.
To make room for them on the roster, which had already been reduced, they released tight end Isaiah Stanback and running back De’Leon Eskridge.
Stanzi’s now getting thrown into the mix with Mike Kafka and Matt Scott for a potential third job behind Blaine Gabbert and Chad Henne, and might be every bit as qualified as any of them.
