Seneca Wallace doesn’t last long with 49ers

When you look back on the Seneca Wallace era with the 49ers, you better not blink.

According to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee, the 49ers intend to cut the just-acquired quarterback, and won’t play him in tonight’s preseason finale.

Wallace was brought in, ostensibly to compete for the backup job. But then, in a startling coincidence, Colt McCoy agreed to take a pay cut, and suddenly made the backup job his own.

Without Wallace, that leaves rookie B.J. Daniels as their third at the moment, and likely he’ll get plenty of snaps tonight.
