The cuts in Buffalo have begun.

Quarterback Matt Leinart announced his own departure from the team and PFT has learned from a league source that cornerback Crezdon Butler and tackle Zebrie Sanders are also not going to make Buffalo’s initial 53-man roster.

Butler played five games for the Bills last season, the latest stop on a journeyman career that began when Butler was a fifth-round pick of the Steelers in 2010. He played four games with the Steelers that year, one for the Cardinals in 2011 and then made another one-game stop in Arizona in 2012 after a brief stint with the Redskins. Butler said Thursday night that he wasn’t happy with his performance in the final preseason game and the Bills clearly weren’t thrilled either.

Sanders was a fifth-round pick by the Bills last season. He spent the entire season on injured reserve after having surgery on both hips and played sparingly in the preseason this summer.
